    eleven8

eleven8 is one of ‘Dubstep’s’ finest young talents, having released on some of the biggest labels, eleven8 is just starting to expand his sound while branching out into other genres including ‘d&b’ and ‘future garage’. Showing his versatility, ‘eleven8’ shows off his production skills in this release which incorporates elements of guitars, synths, dirty bass and clean crisp drums to show off what a seismic style this young producer has.

    eleven8 – Alone

‘Alone’ is the title track and has ‘eleven8’s’ signature sound strewn all over it. Tight razor sharp drums over a skippy time signature and brooding subs make this one a heavy affair. A very catchy vocal riff and driving atmosphere round off this intricate track.

    eleven8 – Remember Me

The aptly titled track “Remember Me’ is a tribute to a friend of ‘eleven8’s’ that sadly passed away. On first listen you can hear the meaningful melodies of the guitars and the emotion ‘eleven8’ really has passed into this track. A very soft track with deep meaning but don’t be fooled; the baseline is still perfect for rattling any club sound system.

    eleven8 – Scythe

The flip ‘Scythe’ is reminiscent of something from an alien mothership. Complex beat patterns and punchy mid range bass take the listener on a wonderfully dimly lit journey into the depths of electronic music. A track that is perfect for a late night rave but still subtle enough to listen to on your iPod.

  • The Hybridz

    The Hybridz

Keeping with the same high quality as the recent slew of Vinyl releases, Solace’s first digital debut is headed up with none other than label owner ‘Stole’ & collaboration partner ‘Integration Now’.

Together their new production partnership entitled ‘The Hybridz’ has been turning heads across all EDM scenes with  12” releases scheduled in for d&b labels Silk & Peer Pressure along with the various remixes and last year’s dubby smash – ‘Roots Of Resistance/Mind Splicer’. Not sticking to one genre and making everything from House to Garage and right thru to d&b this duo set is to break down all boundaries with their intricate beats and pounding bass.

The title track ‘Tribal Ghosts’ is a 2-step minimal number, heavenly pads and melodies accompany the low bass while lashings of ‘Burial’ type flavors complement the rest of the track throughout.

‘Blue Sunrise’ comes thru as the most  tribal track of the E.P. Driving conga rhythms and massive sub soon make way for the melodic pitched down vocal that highlights the track. Glimmering pads and atmospheres round off this superb 132bpm track.

Bass is one of the main elements on the E.P and ‘Vibrations’ has tons of it. Speaker rattling subs accompanied with driving beats and a syncopated percussion rhythm. Carefully placed edits and sublime guitar melodies make this track one for the ladies. Twisted drums and skippy 2-step rhythms start this track of again with a vibe reminiscent of ‘Burials’ early works.

Haunting atmospherics and errie strings slide in and out of filtered edits. Although the most chilled out track on the E.P ‘Liberade’ does not disappoint with a huge wobbly bass and sub combo to fill out the bottom end.

    Clubroot

Solace Records is pleased to announce its first release. Stepping up for the labels very first release we have none other than ‘Clubroot’, one of dubsteps most successful and talented producers. Clubroot has had a grip firmly on the scene for a numbers of years with his hypnotic and emotional sound. Currently putting the finishing touches on his 3rd artist L.P, the L.P is set to be released on the American based ‘Lo Dubs’ imprint.

Having received a wide variety of DJ support from across the board – James Zabiela, Sasha to Mary Anne Hobbs, Rob Da Bank and TRG, and glowing reviews from Pitchfork, Bigup Magazine and more – it’s fair to say Clubroot’s sound has touched a nerve and is receiving the attention it rightly deserves.

‘Scars’ starts off the ‘A’ side with a thunderous beat and emotive pads that creep their way into the track. Reminiscent of an early DnB vibe, ‘Scars’ soon lets loose with a massive pounding sub and vocal hook that carries the deep and provocative vibe throughout the rest of the track.

The flip side ‘Hellion’, is the monster of the release. Atmospherics and a menacing under glow build the track to an almighty drop. Razor sharp break beats coupled with huge reece stabs and mid range bass make this one perfect for the late night DJ.
